When is the best time to visit?
The Mexican Caribbean stays warm and sunny for most of the year, so almost any date works for snorkeling and boat tours. If your goal is swimming with whale sharks, the season runs from mid-May to mid-September, when these gentle giants gather off Cancún and Isla Mujeres.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No. You don't need to be a strong swimmer to join. Every guest wears a life vest, and our certified guides stay with you in the water the whole time. If you feel nervous, just let the crew know and they'll keep you close.
Is there a minimum age? Can kids come along?
Families are welcome and children can join most of our tours. Because conditions on the open water can be choppy, we confirm the right minimum age for your specific date when you book. Kids must always wear a life vest and stay with an adult.
What's included in the tour?
Your tour includes the boat trip, a certified guide, a life vest, and snorkeling gear (mask and snorkel). Bottled water and light snacks are provided on most departures. Check the "What's Included" section above for the details of this specific tour.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety comes first. If the port authority closes the marina, we offer a date change or a 100% refund. Free cancellation is also available up to 24 hours before departure.
Can I wear sunscreen on the tour?
Only biodegradable, reef-safe sunscreen is allowed on board, to protect the whale sharks and the reef. Regular sunscreen isn't permitted in the water. We recommend a hat, a rash guard, and applying biodegradable sunscreen before you arrive.
